Yesterday we held our very first Reggae For The King gathering at Civic Park… and it was something special.
People showed up.
Ladies were dancing.
One man jumped on the djembe and played like a seasoned pro.
An older lady was so inspired she said she’s heading to her local thrift shop to buy some drums so she can join in next time.
That’s how this grows — not by force, but by life.
When we shared the flow of the event with the drummer —
First set: play along to the music Second set: open mic Third set: low volume, connect and fellowship
…his response was strong. He leaned in, not back. That’s confirmation.
The local council is also showing support, recognising that this kind of gathering gives young people a positive direction — something real, something alive.
And the weather? Perfect. Couldn’t have asked for better.
This is just the beginning.
Over the next few weeks, flyers will start going out, awareness will grow, and the sound will get louder.

We have officially secured a hall for every Saturday starting June 6th:

🕐 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM (Weekly)
We inspected the hall and were pleasantly surprised. It has a drum circle already painted on the floor! Praise Yah.
Until then, we gather at Civic Park at the same time (weather permitting).
